FAQs
Applicants must be graduate students in Thailand with legal status to stay in the country for the duration of the fellowship (April to December 2025). The program does not provide visa sponsorship.
Fellows must be comfortable working in English to a business level to participate in the masterclasses, training, and immersive placements.
No prior experience is required, but we are looking for applicants with a strong interest in climate action, creative storytelling, or social change.
Yes, non-Thai applicants can apply as long as they have the legal right to stay in Thailand during the fellowship.
The fellowship is not a salaried position. However, fellows will receive a stipend for their program participation or a small grant for a capstone project.
Applicants must submit their application via BambooHR, which includes:
- demographic information
- short narrative statements
- introduction video or creative submission
Only applications submitted to the online portal will be assessed.
The application deadline is 4 April 2025.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews before mid-April, and successful applicants will be contacted for onboarding by late April.
Your online application should take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete. Additional time may be needed depending on your introduction video or creative submission.
Narrative statements are limited to 50 words per question. We highly encourage you to balance brevity, depth, and creativity in your answers!
Applications cannot be edited once submitted. Please review your answers, URLs, and materials carefully before submitting them.
Our selection process will be based on the strengths of your profile and the quality of your narrative statements. We are looking for your potential to progressively develop in one or more of the learning areas of the fellowship.
Our selection criteria include:
- Program readiness (digital literacy, research and writing skills, curricular and extra-curricular achievements)
- Motivation to adapt their current competencies to digital campaigning for climate action and social change
- Ability to work and engage across different disciplines and work cultures
- Alignment of the capstone project with the digital-first approach of the Creative Climate Fellowship
Project ideas submitted in the application form do not need to be fully developed. However, it should clearly convey the project's aims and have reasonable expectations that it will be completed by November 2025.
The selection committee will assess these project ideas based on their viability, relevance, and creativity.
Once onboarded, the selected fellows will work with the program convenors to develop and sharpen their project ideas.
The fellowship is a hybrid program.
Cuttlefish Digital and Love Frankie are remote-first organisations; hence, the fellows’ immersive placements will be primarily online. Program mentors are based across the Asia Pacific region.
Two to three program modules will require in-person sessions in Bangkok, Thailand. The Creative Climate Fellowship program will cover out-of-pocket expenses for these meetings.
Fellows are expected to commit 15 to 25 hours per week and to at least 90% of the program, including the placement, masterclasses, and capstone project.
Fellows will spend six weeks with either Love Frankie or Cuttlefish Digital, then transition to the other organisation for the next six weeks, for an immersion experience that lasts a total of 12 weeks.
During placements, each fellow will be paired with a Cuttlefish Digital and Love Frankie mentor. These mentors specialise in campaign management, creative production, data analytics, digital marketing, editorial work, and impact measurement. They will teach and guide the fellow in skills related to their program areas.
For the capstone project, fellows will collaborate with program convenors to be matched with a mentor if needed.
Deferrals are not permitted. Fellows are expected to engage in their placements and masterclasses according to the 8-month program design.
Fellows will join the Creative Climate Fellowship alumni community and enjoy continued access to mentors, networking, and career opportunities.
The capstone project serves as the culmination of your program, where fellows work independently on a digital-first project in a niche area of their choice. Each project must be designed to raise awareness or strengthen ongoing efforts to drive change in their community or movement.
Through this project, the fellows will apply knowledge and skills gained from one (or more) of the program's learning areas.
A fellow’s capstone project can be a:
- Research Paper (climate issue, policy gap, audience studies, or media trend)
- Digital Campaign Plan (advocacy or awareness campaign)
- Creative Multimedia Project (short documentary, podcast, or visual storytelling piece)
Upon deliberation by the program convenors, a small grant may be provided to a fellow’s project.
Yes! Standout projects will be featured on the Creative Climate Fellowship website and social media channels and shared with our network of campaigners and communications professionals.
With expert, industry-level guidance from Cuttlefish Digital and Love Frankie, a well-executed capstone project is a unique opportunity to enhance your campaigning portfolio, distinguishing you from other professionals in the field.
